More LEC Mares
RPP Rosa de la Pradera
.
Rosa came to LEC in
May, 2009.  She is a
gentle mare with a
locked-in smooth gait.
Rosa is one of those
delightful horses that can
go for weeks and months
without being ridden, but
when called upon for a
ride, is sensible,
well-behaved and smooth.
Rosa rides
equally well
on the trail or
in parades.
Rosa Warming Up for Her Very First Parade
We are looking forward to getting Rosa in
foal in 2010 to LEC Nino de Soberano.
Una Llamada al Amor (Madam) & Dominga de Alegria
Madam & Dominga
at Practice for
the 2009 Iowa Horse Fair
"Madam," a very special young
mare we raised, got her
nickname from the old black
mare my dad had when he and
my mom started going
together.

At six months of age, Madam
came in the house for a
Christmas picture.  So trusting,
she walked right up the three
porch steps and came willingly
in the house.  Even though she's
young, Madam is the "extra"
horse when someone needs a
horse to ride.

Madam, by RTP Casino, is very
smooth and well-gaited.

Plans are to breed her in 2010.
Dominga is a gorgeous, older mare we've
had since August, 2008.  When we acquired
Dominga, I had no plans to ever ride her . . .
just breed her.  But a month after she came
to LEC, I needed an extra riding horse for an
upcoming trailride, so I saddled Dominga.

What an experience:  Dominga is one
travelin' machine.  She can go, and go, and
go . . . always in gait.  Full of brio, she is an
amazing ride.  And at 16, she is totally sound.

So far we've been unsuccessful at getting
Dominga in foal as is sometimes the case
with older maiden mares.  We haven't given
up yet, though, on raising a baby from this
beautiful old lady.
